I’m getting excited about the week after Mother’s Day. Why… well, first, I know I will be enjoying my new wonderful Mother’s Day gift. Second, Parker Carlson from Carlson Vineyards in Colorado will be visiting all of our stores

to sample his wine. Lucky for us, Parker and his wife Mary love Wisconsin and come here every spring for a vacation. They kindly stop and visit us on the way to their fishing destination, probably a top secret spot.

When not vacationing in Wisconsin, Parker is known for his award-winning Riesling and tasty fruit wines, including Peach, Plum, Cherry and his recently re-released Apricot  & Pear-Apple. In these parts, he’s quite famous for

his Sweet Baby Red,  Sweet Gewurztraminer and Unoaked Chardonnay.

I hope that you can stop in, meet Parker and try his wine . If you twist his arm, he may even tell you a few fishing tales. Cheers!

Thierry Villard

This week we have 2 wine visits, both at our Madsion locations. First, Thierry Villard from Villard Esate Winery in Chile will be visiting us early in the week to spotlight his wine collection from Chile’s Casablanca Valley. The Casablanca Valley is the Sonoma of Chile with warm days and cool nights producing wonderful Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Thierry’s wines reflect his French heritage and training along with Chile’s New World style.

Thierry is here for a very short time and will only able to visit our Madison locations this time.

Last week we had Tony Soljan from New Zealand’s North Island . This week the South Island is representing. Mark Jones from Sherwood Winery will he here tasting the South Island collection they make exclusively for Brennan’s. He’ll be sampling his best-selling Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and more. Stop by our to meet Mark and learn more about New Zealand wine!

That’s right. Tony’s coming back to see us!  He hasn’t been here in 2 years,  so please join our wine selectors in giving him a big welcome back to the Badger state.

Now, I think listening to his accent is one of the best things about his visits, but then (duh!) I remember his great lineup of New Zealand wine. While his Legacy Brut Sparkling is my favorite,  his Pinotage is full of berry, cherry and mocha flavors. His Gewurztraminer is spicy and citrusy with just the right amount of sweetness. While he’s here, you can pick your own fav! Plus, Tony and his wife Colleen will be taking a site seeing trip around Wisconsin after their visit with us. So, bring your Wisconsin travel tips!

This has been a great spring at Brennan’s for Washington State wines. We had Greg Powers from Powers/Badger Mountain with us right before Easter. David Adair from Hyatt Vineyards was just here a couple of weeks ago. Now, we’re so excited that Sarah Bagdon from Saint Laurent Winery will be in our stores this week sampling their fabulous lineup of  Wahluke Slope wines. Plus, we just heard that three of their wines are getting reviews in the Wine Enthusiast Magazine, to be featured in the September issue.

It’s hard to believe that it has been over a  year since we opened our Oconomowoc store. We were thinking we should do something to celebrate. Since we all had such a great time at our grand opening, we figured why not do it all over again!
